COVID-19- CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Published in Uncategorized

Dear Members,

FEDERAL GOLF CLUB IS TAKING ACTION IN LINE WITH RECOMMENDATIONS FROM VARIOUS HEALTH AND GOVERNING AUTHORITIES.

THE CLUB AND COURSE ARE OPEN FOR BUSINESS AS USUAL, WITH SOME ADJUSTMENTS IN SERVICE. OUR GOLF COMPETITIONS WILL RUN AS NORMAL, SOME SPECIAL EVENTS ARE CANCELLED, PLEASE CHECK THE BOOKINGS SYSTEM.

The global pandemic has very much been a moving ball. Reporting, cancellations and recommendations have escalated and changed very quickly in the last few days alone.

At Federal, we retain the notion that (for now) the golf course is a comparatively healthy place to be at the present moment, and we encourage you to visit, stay healthy, follow some simple guidelines and enjoy the course and facilities.

We ask you the member to understand and respect the following initiatives for your own safety and that of our staff:

  • The club has lost a large portion of income especially functions. With that in mind we’ll be reducing casual wages wherever we possibly can, so we ask for your understanding especially in the clubhouse

  • We would like you to quote your member number rather than handover your card, our staff are exposed to handling hundreds of items a day.

  • We will not offer water or ice from a public vessel, our staff will pour a glass or put ice in a bag at your request.

  • Please use PayWave instead of cash where possible to reduce interactions with our staff.

  • Sunscreen will only be available at the bar next to the hand sanitiser, we ask that you take the sunscreen then use the sanitiser. All other amenities in locker rooms etc deemed unnecessary will be removed.

  • Please use hand sanitiser at every opportunity.

  • It is unnecessary to shake hands before and after golf, we ask that you refrain from doing so and respect everyone who wishes not to do so.

  • Putt with the flag in where possible.

  • Putting green flags will be removed.

  • Please, as always respect our staff, they are here to serve you under difficult circumstances and we will resume normal service as soon as we deem it safe.  These initiatives have been taken for their safety and yours and implemented by the senior management.

We will take decisive and immediate action should the situation change in coming days, weeks and months.
We will communicate these changes via your website and email blasts, as well as some social media posts.

Further updates will follow as more information comes to hand.

Kind Regards

Anthony Sinclair

General Manager
