Update Water At FederalPublished in Sticky News
Having experienced the driest winter in thirty-five years, with the very warm and dry spring predicted and coupled with no relief of the current drought conditions expected, the Board has made the decision to maintain the current water levy which applies to all rounds of golf played at Federal by both members and visitors. This decision will be reviewed by the Board on a quarterly basis. This will assist the Course Superintendent to present the course in the in best possible playing condition as we move into the hotter playing months. The most critical issue for any golf club is that of the availability of water. The decision has multiple benefits, one being able to access high cost potable water when needed, secondly to ensure the course does not deteriorate due to lack of water and finally the Board considers it to be the only prudent position to take to assist with managing the Club’s financial position.
